From paddock to plate!

Proudly Grown By Australian Farmers

Our farmers are committed to raising healthy free range chickens.

They are passionate about farming and growing good quality produce.

Our STORY

Our story started in 2001 at Lilydale, a picturesque town at the entrance of the Yarra Valley in Victoria.

The region itself is known for its award winning wineries and bountiful produce. It was the perfect starting point for our free range brand.

Today, Lilydale farms are located across various regions in SA, NSW and WA.

All Lilydale free range chickens are Australian owned and grown.

Our Story
Free Range Chickens

Free Range Chickens

Lilydale Free Range Chickens are raised and tended to by farmers who take pride in their welfare and ensure that they are fed a nutritious vitamin enriched diet including a variety of cereals and protein meals.

Lilydale farms are accredited by Free Range Egg and Poultry Australia (FREPA) and are regularly audited. You will notice this accreditation logo on all Lilydale free range chicken packaging. This logo gives you assurance that you are buying free range chicken that meets  the FREPA standard.

FREPA is a group of dedicated Free Range producers and accredited processors setting high standards of farming free range meat chickens in Australia. Lilydale believes in the FREPA standards which can be found at www.frepa.com.au

Perches in the
range areas

We place hay bales in every range area, made up of fresh hay.

Each hay bale has wooden ramps leading up to the bales, providing both fun and exercise for our chickens.

Trees in the range areas on every farm

Our farmers have planted trees within the range areas of Lilydale farms.

We carefully choose the variety of plants based on local soil and weather conditions.

All new trees when mature will provide shade for our chickens. Our farmers never hesitate to go the extra mile to ensure the well-being of these trees, and replant the trees if needed.

Shade huts

Just like we avoid direct sunlight, chickens too prefer enjoying the shade on a sunny day.

Our farms are equipped with trees, and shade huts providing protection from the sun. Our shade huts also resist wind draft and offer UV protection.
